These Terms and Conditions (“Termsâ€) govern your access to and use of the SimpleLearn website and services (the “Serviceâ€).
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.
1. About the Service
SimpleLearn is an online learning platform that allows users to upload or select study materials and generate study aids such as notes, flashcards, mind maps, and practice tests using artificial intelligence. The Service is provided for educational and informational purposes only.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.
3. Accounts
To access most features, you must create an account.
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
- All activity that occurs under your account.
You agree not to share your account with others, use another user’s account, or attempt to access the Service without authorisation. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. User Content
a. Your Content
You retain ownership of any study materials or content you upload, submit, or select through the Service (“User Contentâ€). By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive right to store, process, and display your User Content solely to operate and provide the Service.
b. Responsibility for Content
You are solely responsible for your User Content. You agree not to upload content that you do not have the right to use, that is unlawful, harmful, or infringing, or that violates academic integrity rules applicable to you. We do not review User Content for accuracy or legality.
5. AI-Generated Content
AI-generated outputs are produced automatically based on your input. You acknowledge that AI outputs may contain errors or inaccuracies. The Service does not guarantee correctness, completeness, or suitability, and you are responsible for reviewing and using generated content appropriately. The Service does not replace professional, academic, or legal advice.
6. Google Services
If you use Google sign-in or the Google Drive Picker, we access only the information or files you explicitly authorise and do not access other Google Drive content. Use of Google services is governed by Google’s terms and privacy policies.
7. Subscriptions & Payments
Some features require a paid subscription. Payments are processed by Stripe and are subject to Stripe’s terms.
- Fees are billed in advance on a recurring basis.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled.
- You can cancel at any time through your account settings.
- Refunds are provided only where required by applicable law.
8. Account Deletion
You may delete your account at any time through account settings. Upon deletion, your User Content and generated content will be removed, though certain data (such as billing records) may be retained where legally required.
9. Acceptable Use
- Abuse or interfere with the Service.
- Attempt to bypass security measures.
- Reverse engineer or exploit the platform.
- Use the Service for unlawful or harmful purposes.
We may restrict or terminate access for violations.
10. Availability & Changes
We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify or discontinue features, update the Service, or temporarily suspend access for maintenance.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided “as is†and “as available.†To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of accuracy, reliability, and fitness for a particular purpose.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of data, profits, or opportunities, or your reliance on AI-generated content. Our total liability will not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months prior to the claim.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service if you breach these Terms or misuse the platform. You may stop using the Service at any time.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated†date reflects the latest version. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
